Recommended for the South Side, which is typically good in the morning.

Recommended weight range for the hang gliding tandem flight is 180 pounds or less, but can do up to 200 pounds if the conditions are correct.

Can be done at either the South Side (morning) or North Side (Evening) for the paragliding tandem, beginner lessons typically happen in the morning.

A lot of the time, if air traffic and wind conditions are correct, the passenger can pilot the paraglider up high with the instructor up high for their first flight. No experience required. The experienced pilot with take off and get us into a good airspace (conditions permitting) where then the inexperienced passenger can fly us around. Or, sit back and enjoy the ride and scenery. Typically its pretty easy to find good conditions to do this flight for passengers between 100 and 180 pounds. For passengers between 180 and 200 pounds we need to looking for a bit more specific wind conditions which do happen often.

Basic takeoff and landing practice as well as ground handling and glider assembly/ setup for the beginner lesson.

Fly up much higher than you would be able to by yourself for your first time in a tandem flight, with an experienced instructor at the controls. In a paraglider tandem, you have a chance to fly the glider yourself up high with the instructor there even if its your first time. Conditions must be correct (wind and air traffic) for letting the passenger fly.

In order to get a Hang or Para 1 rating, you must be able to set up the glider, ground handle, and launch and land the glider (usually 4 to 6 lessons). Then you can fly from higher hills, from 500 to 1000 feet high, where you can practice turning the glider and setting up a landing approach, which gets you ready for a H 2 or P 2 rating!

High Mountain tandem flight $450

Must be 18 or older to sign the waiver

Either hang gliding or paragliding high mountain flight would be a great first time flying experience.

Flight times vary, but are often much longer than flights at the Point, and the lack of air traffic plus the added height make it much easier for the passenger to fly the glider themselves, even on their first time flying!

If you are interested in flying the glider yourself on your first flight up high, this is definently for you.

All high mountain tandems come with free pictures, video is $30 extra

Weight limit 200 pounds for hang gliding or paragliding is 200 pounds.   Must be able to run (not for a long time but on take off and landing)
